Our safety and support boats and a Hansa dinghy will get a new lease of life thanks to a very generous grant from the Laywell Matthey Trust based in Brixham. The grant for £4,967.50 will fund a set of new sails with UV strips for the Hansa. Safety and support vessels will have mechanical steering upgraded to hydraulic steering ensuring reliability. The support and safety boats will also be rewired. We are enormously grateful to the Trust for this very generous support. Secretary of Laywell Matthey Geoff Andrews says: "We feel this will greatly benefit our target demographic - the elderly and disabled." The Trust was formed following the sale of Laywell Matthey care home in Brixham and its brief is to fund projects in and around Brixham which help elderly and disabled residents.
